Chinese Soup Dumplings
1 ½ cups (375 mL) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp (15 mL) baking powder
½ tsp (2 mL) salt
½ cup (125 mL) milk
2 ½ tbsp (37 mL) butter
1 egg yolk
Place flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Place milk in a small pan on medium-high heat. Add butter and remove from heat when butter is melted. Let cool slightly; mixture should just be warm. Add egg yolk, whisking to combine.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well until it becomes a dough..
Roll dough out into ropes about 1-in (2.5 cm) wide and cut into ¼-in (0.5 cm) lengths.
